MANILA—Police raided late Thursday afternoon 2 spas in Quezon City for allegedly offering extra services to its customers.

The Philippine National Police-Women and Children Protection Center (PNP-WCPC) arrested 3 spa workers and rescued some 20 women, including 2 minors.

The operatives raided the establishments located in Barangay N.S. Amoranto and Barangay Sto. Domingo past 4 p.m.

During the operation, they chanced upon a customer taking a bath with a female massage therapist.

Police Lt. Col Maria Sheila Portento, chief of WCPC's anti-trafficking in persons division, said they conducted 2 weeks of surveillance and discovered the massage parlors offered extra service to its male patrons.

Booking appointment was reportedly done through a website, where customers can choose a massage therapist.

Police will file a complaint against the operator of the massage parlor for violating Republic Act (RA) 10364 or Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012 and RA 9231 or Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
