MANILA -- The lowest in a three-step rainfall warning system was raised in Metro Manila and nearby provinces at 2 a.m. Sunday, weather bureau PAGASA said as it warned of more floods.

The yellow rainfall warning was also in effect over Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, Bataan, Zambales, Pampanga, and Bulacan.

Metro Manila was under a red warning, the highest alert, early Saturday evening. It was later downgraded one step to orange.

Light to moderate with occasional heavy rains are expected in Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Laguna, and Quezon may persist within 3 hours, PAGASA said.
