MANILA - A rift between actresses Bea Alonzo and Julia Barreto has generated buzz from social media users, their fellow celebrities and now, a member of the Supreme Court.

Alonzo's social media activity hinting about infidelity triggered speculation that her former boyfriend, Gerald Anderson, cheated on her with Barretto, which she and the actor denied.

In an apparent reaction to the issue, Supreme Court Associate Justice Marvic Leonen tweeted Wednesday: "Dear Bea and Julia, is he really worth it? #JustAsking"

Former Customs chief and now Muntinlupa Rep. Ruffy Biazon re-tweeted Leonen's remark, saying "You know it has become a national issue when a justice of the SC asks a clarificatory question."

"Now I’m contemplating to file an inquiry in aid of legislation," Biazon added in apparent jest.

Leonen's post has gotten 1,500 re-tweets and 7,900 "likes" as of 2:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, the hashtags #TeamJulia, #TeamBea and #BeaVSJulia were among Twitter's top trends for the Philippines.
