ILOCOS NORTE - A 59-year-old farmer in Barangay Madupayas, Badoc, Ilocos Norte was killed by his own carabao Tuesday afternoon.

The victim was identified as Perpecto Apricano.

The farmer's son Azer said his father was going to give the carabao a bath in the river when the carabao suddenly gored him.

The victim fell into the river and was carried away by the fast current. His body was found by a barangay tanod.

Apricano sustained deep wounds in his jaw and thighs. Police and his family believe that he died because of the carabao attack.

The carabao was given to Apricano by a certain agency 10 years ago but the family said it is only this year that the carabao went wild and aggressive.

Farmers in the barangay said male carabaos are sometimes aggressive.

The family will sell the carabao and the money will be used for Apricano's funeral expenses.
