Arroyo returns to Pampanga

Former President, now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo on Saturday spoke to her constituents after attending Mass in Lubao with her family.

Arroyo, who was released from hospital detention last week after being acquitted of plunder by the Supreme Court (SC), attended the 6 a.m. Mass at the San Agustin Parish.

Arroyo was with her husband, former First Gentleman Mike Arroyo, their sons, Dato and Mikey, and grandchildren.

The priest offered prayers and blessings to the Arroyo family.

After the Mass, the former president delivered 7-minute speech, where she expressed her gratitude to her supporters.

"It's good to be home with you at last," said Arroyo, who also shared her experience while under hospital arrest.

Arroyo also reiterated her plans in Congress for the improvement of Pampanga.

A gathering was held following the Mass. In attendance were Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda and other mayors and councilors of the province.
