MANILA—Manila Mayor Isko Moreno said Friday he will make the capital great again.
Speaking before the officers of Rotary Club of Bagumbayan-Manila, he urged Manileños to support his efforts in fixing Manila.
"I want you to believe that someday, somehow, Manila will be great again," he said.
"Kaya mga kababayan, tulungan niyo po kami. Hind po namin kayang mag-isa."
Moreno, who used to scavenge for food as a boy, said it is only the children of Manila care Manila.
"Walang magmamalasakit sa mga taga-Maynila kundi tayo ding batang Maynila," he said.
In his first few weeks in office, Moreno cleared the city of illegal street vendors and dismantled stalls at the Lagusnislad underpass.—With reports from Ina Reformina, ABS-CBN News
