MANILA (2nd UPDATE) - Some 100 people were rushed to hospitals for suspected food poisoning Wednesday after attending an event that is part of the 90th birthday celebration of former First Lady Imelda Marcos in Pasig City, local officials said.

The patients experienced stomach ache and vomiting at the event at the Ynares Sports Center around 11 a.m., said the Pasig command center.

The 2,500 attendees were served packed lunches of adobo with potatoes and egg, said Barangay Oranbo Chairman Richard Pua.
