President Rodrigo Duterte’s children took their oath of office on Friday, among other newly-elected officials of Davao City.

Sara Duterte-Carpio was reelected as Davao City mayor while her youngest brother Sebastian “Baste” Duterte bagged his first political position as the city vice mayor.

The president’s eldest son, Paolo “Pulong” Duterte is now representative of the first district of Davao City.

Sara and Pulong got a landslide victory while Baste ran uncontested.

Photos of the oathtaking were posted on social media by Leyte Representative-Elect Martin Romualdez, one of the lawmakers aspiring to become House Speaker.

Other aspirants include Marinduque Rep. Lord Allan Velasco, Taguig City Representative-Elect Alan Peter Cayetano, and Davao del Norte Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez.

Romualdez also posted photos of him meeting with the siblings separately. Despite the intense competition among the aspirants, the President has yet to name his preferred leader of the House of Representatives.

The House Speaker is expected to be named on July 22, the opening of the 18th Congress, which coincides with the President’s State of the Nation Address.
