MANILA - The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is making it easier for the public to renew driver's licenses or apply for student driving permits in malls by having operations even on Saturdays.

In a memorandum circular issued recently, the LTO ordered all its Driver's License Renewal Offices (DLRO) in malls nationwide to operate on Saturdays starting this month.

"To fully maximize the accessibility and availability of our services to the public in malls, effective June 2019, all DLROs are hereby required to operate and process applications for renewal of driver's licenses and issue student permits on Saturdays," read the memo signed by LTO chief Assistant Secretary Edgar Galvante.

Meanwhile, LTO's earlier memo also permits renewing driver's licenses two months or 60 days in advance.
