Habagat to bring more rain in Metro Manila, Luzon on Independence Day

MANILA - (2nd UPDATE) The habagat or southwest monsoon will continue to bring more rain in Metro Manila and other areas in Luzon on Independence Day, state weather bureau PAGASA said Tuesday morning.
Rains may trigger floods in low-lying areas in Bataan, Cavite and Batangas, PAGASA said in a 2 p.m. advisory.
Light to moderate with occasional heavy rains will affect Metro Manila, Zambales, Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Rizal and Laguna until 5 p.m., the weather agency added.
PAGASA declared the official start of the rainy season last week.

Over the weekend, typhoon Domeng enhanced the habagat and dumped heavy rains over Luzon and Western Visayas, leaving one fatality in Palawan province.
