Congressman Pichay brought to hospital while presiding over House session

MANILA - House Deputy Speaker Prospero Pichay was taken to a hospital Monday apparently due to high blood pressure.

Pichay had been presiding over a lower House session which had been on break when he started to suffer a nose bleed.

House medical personnel were then summoned to the session hall.

House Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and other congressmen went to see Pichay as he was being attended to by doctors.

Pichay was then wheeled out on a wheelchair straight to a waiting ambulance.

Pichay told media he was okay and he only had nosebleed.

Bayan Muna Rep. Carlos Zarate, however, said doctors said Pichay had high blood pressure.
