MANILA - For allegedly posting lewd photos of their female schoolmates online, 6 male seniors of Philippine Science High School (PSHS) won't be allowed to attend their graduation ceremony, Science Secretary Fortunato dela Peña said Tuesday.
"None of them will march. Three will get diplomas while 3 will get certificates of completion only - but only after requirements that are part of penalty are completed or served," he told ABS-CBN News in a text message.
The students were earlier included in the roster of graduates despite protests from the student body and alumni association.
They were accused of uploading nude photos of their underaged ex-girlfriends - also PSHS scholars - online 2 years ago. The dissemination of lewd photos only came to light earlier this year.
Several students and parents staged a protest on Monday ahead of the graduation rites on Wednesday.
Under the school’s code of conduct, students who engage in any form of voyeurism, including the posting of lewd photos and videos, shall not be eligible for graduation.
