MANILA - The local government of Quezon City on Wednesday recorded 16 new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

In its 11 p.m. bulletin, the local government said that the total number of cases in the city is now at 2,028, with 780 recoveries.

Of the total number of cases, 1,852 have addresses in the city while 1,682 were validated by the QC Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit and District Health Offices.

The COVID-19 death toll in the city is now at 170, with one new death.

The local government said the number of active COVID-19 cases in the city is now 732.

Barangay Batasan Hills still has the most number of COVID-19 cases with 87, followed by Culiat with 74, and Bahay Toro with 64.

Among the six districts in the city, District 4 still has the most number of cases with 445.

As of Wednesday, the local government is updating the list of barangays under extreme enhanced community quarantine.

A 14-day "special concern" or total lockdown was placed on 11 locations in barangays Bahay Toro, Culiat, Sauyo, Batasan Hills, and Tatalon, due to the high number of COVID-19 cases in the areas since May 13.

Certeza Compound, Barangay Culiat and Alley 2 Homart Road, Barangay Baesa were also added to the list of places under special concern lockdown.
