MANILA - Filipinos may get a glimpse of the blue moon, a rare celestial occurrence, on Sunday, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) said.
It will appear at 5:11 a.m. Sunday and will seem full for around three days, according to NASA.
However, the satellite won't actually appear blue. The term was coined after rare events in the past in which dust in the atmosphere made the moon seem blue.
The blue moon is the third out of four full moons this season, which is considered uncommon as there are usually only three moons per season.
