Other members of the Hataman family will occupy the mayoralty and vice mayoralty positions in the municipality of Sumisip.

Mujiv's wife, Sitti Djalia Turabin Hataman was also proclaimed mayor of Isabela City, defeating vice mayor Cherrlyn Akbar, wife of Wahab.

Cherrylyn was mayor of Isabela for 3 terms from 2007 to 2016. She ran as vice mayor and won in 2016. She was succeeded by Al Qaid Akbar as Mayor.

Catong described Mujiv as a powerful leader of the defunct ARMM government who introduced several changes in Basilan and improved its economy.

The Akbars started to rule since 1998 when Wahab won as Governor. He completed his three terms as governor and was elected as a representative after. Two of his wives, Cherry and Jum were elected governor and mayor of Isabela respectively. He died in an explosion in 2007.
