Eight people were killed on the spot in a collision between a passenger van and a 6-wheeler truck in Babatngon, Leyte Friday morning.

Babatngon police said the fatalities were among 18 passengers in the UV Express van. The remaining passengers were brought to Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center in Tacloban for treatment.
