MANILA (UPDATE) - Members of the Cayetano family are leading the mayoral and congressional races in Taguig City, based on partial and unofficial results.

Former Foreign Affairs secretary Alan Peter Cayetano got 86,078 votes, while his wife Lani received 108,105 votes based on 94 percent of election returns of clustered precincts, as of 1:19 a.m. Tuesday.

Alan Peter is running as representative of the first district of Taguig, while Lani is running as second district representative.

Cayetano's younger brother Lino, who is running for city mayor, received 165,760 votes.

The Cayetano couple’s candidacies in separate legislative districts have been questioned by a Taguig resident before the Comelec over domicile issues. On May 6, however, the poll body junked the petition.

Aside from Lino, Cayetano's sister Pia is also running as senator. She is currently in fourth place with 18,502,249 votes.

Taguig has been the stronghold of the Cayetanos for two decades now, which started when the family patriarch Renato Cayetano was elected as its representative in 1984.
