Outgoing Senator Loren Legarda took an early lead in the congressional race in Antique, based on partial and unofficial results.

Legarda (NPC) had 420 votes while former Antique Gov. Exequiel Javier (Ind) had 193 votes based on 0.28% of election returns from clustered precincts, as of 6:15 pm.

Legarda, a former ABS-CBN News anchor, is term-limited in the upper house of Congress after winning a seat in the senatorial elections in 2007 and 2013.

The Javiers have been the dominant political family in Antique since 1986.
