LRT-2 operation resumes after clearing of tree branches

(UPDATE) - The whole operation of LRT 2 from Recto to Santolan resumed after a brief suspension due to tree branches hitting one train in the Anonas area, according to Light Rail Transit (LRT) spokesperson Hernando Cabrera.

Operations of LRT-2 stations from Recto to Santolan were restored at 7:41 p.m.

Operations of LRT-2 stations from Recto to Anonas were restored at 7:26 p.m.

The Department of Public Works and Highways was doing road works when they accidentally hit a tree that fell on the side of the LRT's elevated tracks in the Anonas area, according to retired Gen. Reynaldo Berroya, LRTA administrator.

Cabrera had announced the suspension at 6:13 p.m.

"All passengers are safe. Will implement suspension of full line operations any time soon to give way for personnel to clear the area," Cabrera said.
