MANILA (UPDATE) - A magnitude 5.5 earthquake struck Occidental Mindoro on Saturday morning, Phivolcs said.

The quake occurred at 9:05 a.m. south west of the town of Rizal.

Intensity 3 was felt in Lipa City, Batangas and in Malay, Aklan while San Nicolas, Batangas and Manila experienced Intensity 2.

The first one happened five minutes after the main quake south east of the same town at magnitude 2.3. It had a depth of 102 kms.

This was followed by a magnitude 2.6 temblor south west of Rizal town at a depth of 40 kms at 9:25 a.m.
