MANILA - Rotational brownouts may be implemented in several areas on Thursday afternoon due to low power reserves, the National Grid Corp of the Philippines said.

Rotational power interruptions may be implemented in parts of Tarlac, parts of Pangasinan, parts of Pampanga, parts of Batangas, parts of Albay, parts of Camarines Sur and in parts of Metro Manila from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., NGCP said in an advisory.

Schedule may be cancelled if the system condition improves, the advisory said.

Meanwhile, power utility concessionaire Meralco has already implemented rotational brownouts in parts of Tutuban, Binondo, San Nicolas and Tondo in Manila as well as in Dasmariñas, Gen. Mariano Alvarez and Silang in Cavite starting 3:36 p.m. Thursday citing shortage in supply.
