A newborn baby in Cebu City has tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the Department of Health (DOH) in Central Visayas said Tuesday.

The DOH said the baby's mother was showing symptoms of COVID-19 during labor. The woman later tested negative for the illness.

There are 203 cases of COVID-19 in Central Visayas, as of Tuesday. Cebu City has the highest number with 173, followed by Lapu-Lapu City with 13 cases, and Mandaue City with 9 cases.
