MANILA - The Sandiganbayan First Division has found former military comptroller, retired Lt. Gen. Jacinto Ligot guilty beyond reasonable doubt of 6 counts of perjury filed against him by the Ombudsman.

The anti-graft court has also found Ligot not guilty in 3 counts of perjury while the 2 other counts were dismissed.

The Office of the Ombudsman filed the perjury raps against Ligot for the alleged numerous false declarations in his Statements of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth from 1993 to 2003.

In an 18-page Order signed on April 5, 2013, then Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales denied the respondents' motions for reconsideration and affirmed a ruling in September 2005.

The ruling was only modified insofar as Ligot's interest in Parmil Farms, Inc., which was declared in his SALNs for the years 2001 to 2003. The Ombudsman said the SALN form requires only the declaration of business and financial interests.
