WATCH: Pinoy fisherman rescued in Papua New Guinea arrives in Manila

MANILA - Twenty-one year old Rolando Omongos, a fisherman who was rescued in Papua New Guinea, has returned to his hometown in General Santos City, Thursday.

Omongos said storm separated him and his uncle Reniel from their fishing vessel. They were stranded on a tiny boat for about 56 days.

He said his uncle died after a month due to hunger and exhaustion.

Omongos sailed off from General Santos on December 21 along with other fishermen aboard the bigger vessel.

Omongos was rescued on March 9, and arrived in Manila on March 29.
