The Buhisan Dam in Cebu City, which supplies water to about 6,000 households, is now producing zero water supply as a result of the weather pattern El Niño, according to the Metropolitan Cebu Water District. Joworski Alipon, ABS-CBN News

CEBU CITY - The Metropolitan Cebu Water District announced on Tuesday that the water supply from one of its sources at the Buhisan Dam now has zero water production, a spokesman said.

This has affected the water supply of about 6,000 households, mostly in uptown Cebu City, said MCWD spokesperson Charmaine Rodriguez-Kara.

On Monday, the entire province of Cebu was placed under a state of calamity due to the effect of weather pattern El Niño on crops.

Provincial officials have approved a resolution declaring a state of calamity and have allocated P59-million for the relief and assistance of affected farmers and fishermen.
