The Philippine National Police Anti Kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG) Visayas Field Unit (VFU) with Naval Intelligence Security Group (NISG) arrested Mansor Manupac Mantawil, alleged leader of the Mantawil Kidnap-For-Ransom Group, last Saturday.

PNP-AKG Director Senior Superintendent Glenn Dumlao said Mantawil was arrested around 7 p.m. along Ouano Avenue, Barangay Centro, Mandaue City by virtue of arrest warrants issued by the Pagadian Regional Trial Court for kidnapping and serious illegal detention, carnapping and robbery.

Mantawil is listed in the PNP-AKG’s Most Wanted Kidnappers known for operating in Pagadian, Lanao del Sur and Lanao del Norte targeting well-off businessmen.

He is currently detained at the Cebu Police Station-PS2 pending the return of the warrants of arrest to the issuing court.
