In a statement, Trinoma management said it received a report of the fire incident at 2:27 pm.

The management added that the Landmark Department Store (new wing) and Trinoma's North Avenue wing have been evacuated.

The Bureau of Fire Protection in Quezon City declared fire out at 6:33 p.m.

QCBFP Fire Marshall Senior Superintendent Manuel Manuel said they were able to save Anthony Molina, an aircon technician, who was trapped inside the building.

Four others, including two firemen and two fire volunteers, were given first aid due to difficulty in breathing.

Manuel said they have yet to identify the cause of the fire, and the amount of damage it caused.

Firefighters were also seen using breathing apparatus due to the thick smoke in the area.

MRT-3 management said train operations were not affected by the fire.

However, an eyewitness said MRT passengers were not allowed to enter the passageway from MRT to Trinoma.

Conrad Reyes told ABS-CBN News that train passengers were being diverted to the walkway along EDSA-North Avenue unloading area.
