Almost a week after she was arrested, detained Senator Leila de Lima sent a letter addressed to her loved ones, expressing disappointment for the injustice done to her and to other victims.

In the handwritten letter dated March 1, 2017, De Lima said that while she is psychologically prepared for her incarceration,"her whole being cries for truth and justice."

"My heart also bleeds for all other victims of injustice those who were falsely accused and now cramped in severely congested jails," her letter read.
