Parents frantically fetched children from school, and government employees and students evacuated buildings after a 4.6-magnitude earthquake rattled parts of Davao City Thursday morning.

In photos taken by ABS-CBN News in Davao City, students of the Palma Gil Elementary School in Quirino Ave were seen leaving the school building after the quake, which toppled an old waiting shed outside the campus.

Employees of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP)-Davao also evacuated their office during the tremor. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake struck at 09:50:16 AM and was tectonic in origin. The quake was felt at Intensity IV in Davao City.
