VIGAN - Senatorial bets under the administration coalition Hugpong ng Pagbabago on Monday visited Ilocos Sur, as the campaign season entered its second week.

Former Ilocos Sur governor and now Narvacan Councilor Luis “Chavit” Singson welcomed the HNP bets at his bailiwick and appealed for Ilocos Sur voters to support the pro-administration bets.

“Kung ano po ang pagmamahal na ibinigay niyo sa amin noon, ganoon din sana ang pagmamahal na ibigay niyo sa ating mga senador,” Singson told the crowd at the province’s capital, Vigan City.

HNP’s leader, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, had forged an alliance with Ilocos Sur’s BILEG Party, led by the Singsons, in September last year.

The provincial party and its supporters were in full force as Hugpong bets converged at the capital.

Also present at the sortie were Ilocos Sur Gov. Ryan Luis Singson, Vice Gov. Jerry Singson, and Reps. Deogracias Victor Savellano and Eric Singson.

Ilocos Sur is home to 411,951 registered voters, according to a 2016 data of the Commission on Elections.

HNP bets are expected to go to Ilocos Norte in the afternoon, a bailiwick of the Marcoses, a major ally of President Rodrigo Duterte.
