MANILA - A magnitude 3.4 earthquake struck Baguio City in Benguet province on Monday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.

The epicenter was located 7 kilometers southeast of Baguio. It struck at around 08:42 a.m., Phivolcs said.

With a depth of 16 kilometers, the tremor was felt at Intensity 4, the agency said.

Phivolcs describes Intensity 4 as "moderately strong." Its feel is similar to the passing of a heavy truck and can rattle wood-framed buildings, the agency said.

No major damage was expected from the quake, which was also unlikely to spawn aftershocks, it said.
