The head of the Philippine National Police on Monday said the nation's police force will do its best to make "Oplan Tokhang" less bloody this time around.

Director General Ronald dela Rosa urged drug personalities to cooperate with "tokhangers" as PNP drug operatives will only knock and plead once.

“Hindi na. Bakit magbalik-balik ka diyan na iniisnab ka. Kapal naman ng mukha mo. Eh ayaw ko nga kayo kausapin, eh bakit kayo babalik-balik dito?” Dela Rosa said in a press conference.

If the drug personalities do not comply with authorities, their names will be submitted to the drug enforcement unit (DEU) for investigation and case build up.

If the drug personalities show they have repented, their names will be removed from the list but they will still be monitored by authorities.

Dela Rosa said they want to protect their operatives with short firearms.

“I cannot give you 100% or a full proof anti drug campaign na magiging bloodless. Bigyan niyo ko kung sino pwede gawin yan o commander na pwedeng gumawa niyan, na walang mangyari na mamatay and I am willing to give up my posts. Kung may tao diyan na pwedeng o maging successful tayo sa anti-drug na walang mamamatay, that’s baloney. That’s impossible,” he said.

He said drug personalities who persist in illegal activities should be ready to face police operations.

“Kahit na nakatok na siya noon pero persistent pa rin ang information sa barangay na nagbebenta pa rin sya ng droga, kakatukin sya ulit or buy-bust operation na. Matigas ang ulo hindi makinig sa matinong usapan,” Dela Rosa warned.

Dela Rosa told his men to remain vigilant this time around.

“Please, kung mahal niyo yung PNP, tulungan natin na hindi na masira ang ating imahe, by being vigilant doon sa ating mga kasamahan na posibleng gumawa ng mga kalokohan. Bantayan natin sila at ingatan natin ang ating trabaho para hindi tayo masisira,” he said.
