MANILA - The Supreme Court en banc has unanimously dismissed for gross misconduct a court employee who raped a 14-year-old girl inside a hall of justice in 2007.

The high court also forfeited the retirement benefits of Edgardo Salazar, a construction and maintenance general foreman, and perpetually banned him from working in government.

A cousin of the victim allegedly introduced her to Salazar in 2007 through text. The girl said Salazar introduced himself as an "engineer" and asked her to be his second wife.

The victim said she replied to the court employee and told him that he should not say those things and that she did not know her.

Following this exchange, two of her cousins accompanied her to the hall of justice, supposedly to meet a person who will give them a cellphone. That person turned out to be Salazar.

Salazar asked the victim's cousins to go out and buy snacks, leaving him and the minor alone in his office. The court employee sexually abused the victim while the two cousins were out.
