MANILA—A low-pressure area spotted east of Surigao del Sur early Sunday will dampen Eastern Visayas and Caraga regionjs, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

The LPA, however, has a slim chance of developing into a storm because of a frontal system, according to PAGASA weather specialist Loriedin de la Cruz.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon (amihan) continues to prevail in Luzon, she added.

It will bring cloudy skies and light rains over the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Aurora and Quezon.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience isolated light rains, De la Cruz said.
