(UPDATED) The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Sunday has temporarily suspended bus trips to the province of Cebu due to Typhoon ‘Auring.’

Bus trips in Liloan (Santander), Toledo, Tabuelan and Hagnaya (Bogo) were suspended Sunday due to the declaration of tropical cyclone warning signal No. 1 over the province.

“Buses plying these routes are advised [to] stay at their respective terminals to provide the passengers ready access to food and personal amenities,” the LTFRB said in a statement.

“Bus operators are advised to attend to their passengers need,” the statement added.

Operations were also suspended in Lipata, Surigao, San Ricardo, Dumaguete, Larena, Tagbilaran, Nasipit, Dumanga, Liloan in southern Leyte, Cagayan de Oro, Benoni and Balingoan as per the Philippine Ports Authority.

The LTFRB is advising bus operators to suspend their respective operations in the affected ports.

In its 5 p.m. briefing, state weather bureau PAGASA said "Auring" has made landfall over Siargao Island in Surigao del Norte.

It was last seen in the vicinity of Cagdianao, Dinagat Islands. It has maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center, with gusts of up to 70 kph.
