MANILA - Tropical depression Agaton triggered floods and landslides in Iligan City, Tuesday as it dumped rains on areas still reeling from back-to-back storms last week.

Floods up to knee-deep swamped parts of barangay Palao, Hinaplanon, Tubod, Tipanoy, Santiago, Tibanga, Bagong Silang, San Miguel and Tambacan.

Mud and debris covered a portion of C-3 Road in Barangay Tubod at 4:30 a.m., rendering it impassable. The contractor of a retaining wall along the road said it would clear the debris before noon.

There were no reported injuries or deaths in the city due to Agaton, the first storm to enter the country this year.

The weather in Iligan was improving at noon Tuesday as the storm moved westwards to Palawan.
