Several days of heavy downpour flooded the towns of Norala and Sto. Niño in South Cotabato.

A total of 176 families were forced to evacuate when the Matapol creek in Sto. Niño overflowed.

At 11 p.m. Monday night, residents were advised to temporarily leave their houses for safety as water levels continued to rise.

But despite warnings from the Barangay Disaster team, some residents still chose to stay behind.
