PALAWAN - Residents of Puerto Princesa City on Monday complained about the uncollected garbage on the streets of the provincial capital.

According to the residents, the foul smell from the garbage has been bothering them for some time now. They were worried that it might cause health problems to the children.

Aside from the problems in collecting garbage, the residents were also requesting for additional trash bins.

According to the city's solid waste management, they only have eight garbage trucks available over the weekend because four trucks were used for the Pista y Cagueban activity last Saturday. Two night shift garbage truck drivers were also absent on Sunday while one truck was unavailable as it was under repair.

The solid waste management also said that there were no available trash bins to be distributed to barangays. However, they said that they have requested additional funding from the Office of the Mayor.
