LA UNION--If you're thinking that this house has a cute, charming look to it, you're right.

This is the Hello Kitty House that has been a standout in Brgy. Guesset, Naguilian, La Union.

The house is owned by 52-year-old Marie Sol Gagarin.

A pink gate with the face of Hello Kitty greets you at the entrance. A six-foot-tall Hello Kitty figure seems to usher you inside.

“Tuwing may makikita na akong Hello Kitty, masaya na ako. Kailangan, gusto ko rin, iba-iba, gano’n. Parang yung tinatawag na, pampaalis-pagod. Kasi mag-isa lang ako, malalaki na yung mga anak ko, mga lalaki pa”, Gagarin said.

Gagarin started collecting Hello Kitty merchandise in 2003, when she bought a Hello Kitty tissue holder.

Since then, her Hello Kitty items--kitchen utensils, furniture, bathroom fixtures--have somewhat been residents of her abode.

Marie Sol shared that her family is supportive of her. In fact, the motif of her 25th wedding anniversary was also Hello Kitty.

“Kung ano ‘yong gusto ko, andiyan siya [husband] na bibili. ‘Yong mga anak ko naman, natutuwa rin sila kasi mga friends nila, natutuwa rin”, Gagarin said.
