MANILA, Philippines -- The Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) on Tuesday confirmed that five other dioceses will put up their own "Team Buhay versus Team Patay" tarpaulins, similar to the one posted by the Diocese of Bacolod outside the San Sebastian Cathedral.
CBCP Episcopal Commission on Family and Life Executive Secretary Fr. Melvin Castro said the dioceses of Lipa, Sorsogon, Kidapawan, Borongan and Tarlac will also release lists of senatorial candidates who they deem as "pro-life" and "anti-life."
He said the size of the tarpaulins will be 2x3 feet to comply with the required size of the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
Castro, however, said they will put up several small tarpaulins close to each other to make it appear as a big poster.
He also said that aside from the tarpaulin, the dioceses will also try to inform the public of their "Team Buhay, Team Patay" lists by conducting house-to-house visits, which will be initiated by Lipa Archbishop Ramon Arguelles.
Their own "Team Buhay, Team Patay" campaigning will be done before the Holy Week, Castro added.
Meanwhile, Castro claimed this is not a form of revenge from the Catholic Church after being hurt by negative remarks made by some congressmen regarding their stand on the controversial reproductive health (RH) law.
