MANILA - Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, Director General Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa has ordered a reorganization of senior officials in the national police force during his first day in office.

According to dela Rosa, he assigned three of his upperclassmen to his Command Group. The Command Group will be assisted by the Directorial Staff in operational management of the various activities of the PNP, he said.

Regional directors meanwhile were reassigned to "other equally-important positions in different levels of command."

"This reorganization followed the time-honored tradition in the police service that recognizes merit, seniority and competence in the selection process," dela Rosa said.

The new PNP chief called on the 170,000-strong police force to support the newly reorganized team.

The following officers have been designated to their new positions, effective July 1:

In his speech during the PNP's change of command Friday morning, dela Rosa warned that days of law violators in the police force are already numbered.

Dela Rosa, following the leadership of President Rodrigo Duterte, is determined to rid the country of drugs, criminality, and corruption, starting from those who are supposed to implement the law.

"Kayong mga kotong, abusado, tamad at sindikatong pulis, bilang na ang mga araw ninyo," he said.

"In our fight against drugs, criminality and corruption it is either you are with me or you are not with me. If you are with me, then let's do it. But if you are not with me, then you are finished."
