SINGAPORE - President Aquino has arrived here in Singapore for a two-day working visit.

He landed at Changi International Airport at 11:28 a.m. Tuesday.

His first stop would be at the Istana, the official residence and office of the president of Singapore.

Right now, Aquino is meeting with Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in a courtesy call and will attend a luncheon to be hosted by Singaporean President Tony Tan Keng Yam who visited the Philippines in April.

Aquino is in Singapore primarily to attend the "World in 2015" Gala Dinner hosted by The Economist Tuesday night.

He will sit down for a keynote interview and answer questions on a wide range of topics, from business to matters of regional interest. The audience would be mostly business executives.

Aside from making his projections about the year ahead, Aquino is hoping to take advantage of this opportunity to generate investor interest.

Singapore is the Philippines' fourth major trading partner, with total trade amounting to 8.38 billion dollars last year.

Aquino will meet with Singaporean businessmen, tomorrow, Wednesday and meet with the Filipino community in a Jollibee branch here in Lucky Plaza, a famous hangout of Filipinos living and working here.

There are about 200,000 Filipinos here, mostly professionals and workers in the service sector and household sector.

This is Aquino's second visit to Singapore. The first was a state visit in 2011. Aquino heads back to Manila tomorrow afternoon.
