Aquino to attend business forums in Japan

MANILA, Philippines – President Benigno Aquino III is set to visit Japan on September 25, following his successful visit to China where he was able to close nearly $1.3 billion worth of planned Chinese investments in the Philippines.

The President's official working visit in Japan will be from September 25 to September 27, upon the invitation of the Japanese government, the Department of Foreign Affairs said.

Aquino will pay a state call on Japanese Emperor Akihito and meet with new Japanese Prime Minister Yushihiro Noda.

The President will also attend business forums and round table discussions with Japanese businessmen.

He will then meet with the Filipino community in Tokyo and Miyagi, one of the areas hit hard by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami. -- Report from ANC
