JAKARTA - President Aquino arrived in Jakarta, Indonesia midnight on Monday for his state visit.
A Cebu Pacific commercial flight with the Presidential party landed at the Soekarno Hatta International Airport.
At the airport, he was welcomed by Indonesian officials led by Indonesian Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. R.M. Marty M. Natalegawa.
On the Philippine side, among the officials who met the President were Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario, Philippine Embassy Charge d’ Affaires Maria Rosario Aguinaldo, and Philippine Permanent Representative to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Wilfrido Villacorta.
President Aquino is scheduled to meet Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Tuesday morning and discuss fisheries cooperation, maritime boundary delimitation, and other matters.
In the afternoon, the President will look into the situation of the Filipino community in Indonesia.
He will also witness the signing of three agreements, including those on basic education, sports cooperation, and on cooperation in preventing and combating transnational crimes and capacity building.
Aquino will be in Indonesia until Thursday and in Singapore from Thursday until Saturday. -- with reports from Willard Cheng, ABS-CBN News; ANC
