MANILA – Here are some events that you should not miss this weekend.

35th Philippine Travel Mart

To those who are searching for great travel deals and packages across the country and in other foreign places as well, the 35th Philippine Travel Mart is set to hold booths and exhibitions of tour operators, tourism offices, travel agencies, airlines, hotels and resorts at the SMX Convention Center in SM Mall of Asia, from Friday to Sunday.

The event, which is the Philippines’ longest running travel fair, seeks to be a one-stop shop for exclusive travel opportunities, giving guests numerous options for their dream adventure. With the theme "Love the NextGen Tourism", the tour will open at 12 p.m. after a morning program.

Tickets are priced P100 for each day and can be purchased online on the  Travel Mart's site.

Solaire Resort's ChiMac Festival

Solaire Resort Entertainment City will be holding a ChiMac Festival, a combination of “chicken” (chi) and “mac” (beer) which is a known Korean comfort food, on September 7 at the Grand Ballroom.

Aside from mouthwatering Korean dishes, DJ Kara and Filipino rock band Itchyworms will also perform. Furthermore, guests can try the traditional Hanbok dress and photoshoot.

Hosted by Miss Korea Philippines 2018 Shine Kuk, the event will be a feast of Korean food, music, and activities.

9.9 sale events

Start your Christmas shopping early by checking out 9.9 sale events by different stores and brands.

Paseo Outlet's sale from September 6 to 8 offers discounts of up to 80% on stores such as Lacoste Outlet, Giordano Outlet, and Oakley Vault. It is located in Santa Rosa, Laguna, just a short drive from Metro Manila. 

Chinese online furniture store brand LINSY is also offering discounts from September 8 to 13 as it joins Lazada's 9.9 Mega Brands Sale. The brand offers three styles -- Modern, Light Luxury, and Nordic -- allowing customers to create a home that reflects their lifestyles.


Also holding a 9.9 sale is Nespresso, with 15% off on machines such as the Essenza Mini, Inissia, Pixie, and Citiz when purchased on the brand's website with three coffee sleeves. All Vertuo machines are also sold at 15% off with no coffee purchase required. The promo runs from September 6 to 15.

Fully Booked, meanwhile, promises discounts and its vouchers on its 9.9 sale on Shopee from September 9 to 10, and Lazada from September 9 to 13. 

Paw Fest

Carnival-themed Paw Fest is back this Saturday and Sunday at Robinsons Magnolia, Upper Ground Floor, Atrium, and Central Garden. 

A lineup of fun activities for fur friends can be expected at the event on both days. On Saturday, there will be pet Olympics, free deworming, and magic show.


HandoutMeanwhile, guests can enjoy a pet fashion show on Sunday at 4 p.m. 

Throughout the festival, there will be pet blessings, opportunity to acquire free pet policy insurance, treats galore, and raffle.

Robinsons Malls' Grandparents Day Event

Robinsons Mall prepared a set of activities and surprises for grandparents on Saturday and Sunday nationwide. These include heirloom recipe demos, bingo games, plantito/plantita workshops, bonsai exhibits, free caricature, and puzzle competition.

Select Robinsons Malls will also offer free basic health consultation and eye check-up for grandparents.

Moreover, on Robinsons Galleria, they can enjoy the RMusic Fest with all the songs of vocal group The Company and S.I.L.Y.A (Sa Iyo Lolo at Lola Yantok Aming Alay) is also set to roll out its Mini Me chairs for grandparents' comfort.
