Andro Solas, a 32-year-old fisherman, sailed against tides as he entered his vlogger era, earning through YouTube where he has amassed thousands of views.

Solas, despite knowing the reality of having a lot of competitors, pursued his dream and started a YouTube channel, which currently has almost 400,000 subscribers.

"Kasi hindi pa ako nagsisimula na mag-vlog, tapos nakikita ko na 'yung ibang mga vlogger din na ganyan," he said in an interview with ABS-CBN News.

From only using his phone, Solas was eventually able to invest in a GoPro camera, allowing him to conveniently film videos even in the middle of the ocean.

Through vlogging, he is able to earn more than his maximum income of P3,000 as a fisherman.

He considers his side hustle as a "good catch," as it makes him feel good to be appreciated by many online. It also gives him the opportunity to help those in need.
