Looking for a new place to visit this summer? There's a new theme park in Batangas, and it's co-owned by actor Daniel Padilla.

Located in Tanauan, J Castles soft-opened on Wednesday, May 1. Padilla, known to many as half of the former couple and love team KathNiel with Kathryn Bernardo, celebrated his 29th birthday here over the weekend.

On the surface, it's easy to compare J Castles with Disneyland, given its blue castle facade and sprawling gardens. It is even marketed as a "happy place," presumably a nod to Disneyland being known as the "happiest place on earth."

But instead of roller coasters and character-themed attractions, immersive experiences seem to be the focus of J Castles, based on its social media posts. Among these are a room filled with lights, and another with an astronaut figure and glowing inflatables.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Padilla said he was involved in the creation of J Castles. "Doon tayo sa creatives and conceptualization," he said. "Siyempre hands-on dahil gusto nating ma-experience ng mga tao... hindi naman tayo puwedeng gumawa ng theme park na basta-basta (Of course I've been hands-on because we can't just make just any other theme park)."

When asked if he is transitioning into his "businessman era" with his latest venture, the actor simply replied: "Tumatanda lang tayo (We are just getting older)."

Will you be visiting J Castles soon? -- with a report from Ganiel Krishnan, ABS-CBN News
