MANILA — Popular restaurant Cafe Via Mare at Greenbelt 1 mall in Makati will close its doors by the end of the month.

In a Facebook post, Via Mare said the closure is a "consequence of the impending demolition of the iconic Greenbelt 1 building."

"Since the 80s, it has been a beacon of Filipino culinary excellence, pioneering the concept of a truly Filipino cafe and offering beloved dishes like Bibingka, Puto-Bumbong, Pancit Luglog, and Dinuguan."

Following the closure, Cafe Via Mare will move to a new home in Greenbelt 5. And while saying goodbye to the old branch brings "profound sadness," the restaurant is looking forward to creating "new memories" with customers.
