The Health & Wheelness Driver Care Event 2024 welcomed drivers and riders from Grab and MOVE IT and their families to participate in different seminars and workshops.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the Philippine Red Cross (PRC), First Metro Asset Management, and Pag-IBIG provided insights on healthy diet, social protection, road safety, and financial well-being.

The attendees were also able to avail medical, dental, and optometric check-ups.

"Totoo na walang tatalo sa sipag at diskarte ng mga Grab driver- and delivery-partners at MOVE IT rider-partners. Sa kanilang kasipagan, minsan nakakaligtaan nilang bigyang pansin ang kanilang kalusugan," said Grab Philippines Head of Cities and Business Operations CJ Lacsican.

Grab and MOVE IT partnered with Generika to give vitamins, health supplements, and appropriate medications following the free consultations.

"This is why we continue to implement various initiatives to ensure that they take care of not only their livelihood but also their own health," said Lacsican.

The platform also provided 700 pre-registered participants with complimentary dentures customized to their dental prescriptions.

Membership application and accreditation booths for Pag-IBIG and PhilHealth were also available where they issued new Loyalty Card Plus and PhilHealth IDs.

Participants also enjoyed an array of self-care services, including complimentary haircuts, massages, and nail cleaning sessions.

Meanwhile, the platform simultaneously hosted an online seminar for partners, providing access to wellness education and supporting partners unable to attend the on-ground activities.

Esteemed speakers from the Philippine Red Cross (PRC), the Department of Agriculture, and Shell Philippines shared insights with the audience on topics such as healthy eating and vehicle maintenance.

The ride-hailing companies also extended their support to partner vehicles by offering complimentary oil changes through Shell and Mechanigo.Ph.

"Grab and MOVE IT's shared commitment to the wellness of drivers and riders also encompasses harnessing the power of technology to encourage healthier lifestyles within their driver and rider communities," the platforms said in a press release as they introduced new features to promote driver wellness.

Fatigue Nudge, a fatigue detection feature that alerts drivers who have been online for over 10 hours, encouraging them to take a break.

They also have in-app learning platforms GrabAcademy and Ka-MOVE IT Academy offering courses on physical, mental, and financial well-being, accessible to drivers at their convenience.
