MANILA (UPDATED) — The Philippines will have to wait for another chance to win its first crown in Miss Cosmo International.

The Philippines' representative, Ahtisa Manalo, failed to get a spot in the Top 5 of the first-ever edition of the pageant during its coronation night in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. 

Manalo was chosen to represent the Philippines in the inaugural Miss Cosmo pageant following her second runner-up finish in Miss Universe Philippines 2024.

Indonesia's Ketut Permata Juliastrid Sari won the Miss Cosmo 2024 crown.  

The Indonesian beauty bested among 55 other candidates in the competition.

Karnruethai Tassabut of Thailand was named as the first runner-up. 

In the question and answer portion, the Indonesian beauty was asked about her "contribution to sustainable society". 

"My skills, I am equipped with all the skills being a Puteri Indonesia of Tourism, I have an advocacy. It is sustainable tourism where I try to preserve culture because I believe culture is an important aspect in order for us to be who really are, growing up in Bali I am surrounded by rich traditional culture and made me the woman I am today. And I have worked with local artisans not only giving them economic opportunity but also giving them the platform for the younger generations to take pride in their own culture like how I take pride in my own culture. I am a Balinese and I will continue to say that I am a proud Balinese, I am a proud Indonesian and I am here to make Indonesia proud today," she said.
